East Peckham Parish Council Statement

Thursday 28th May 2026

Recently there have been many posts and comments made on social media regarding the Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Plan, including some serious accusations.
The Council refutes these allegations and has sought legal advice on potential action regarding them.

If a member of the public wishes to make a complaint to the Parish Council in general, this should be submitted in writing to the Parish Clerk at The Parish Office, Jubilee Hall, Pippin Road, East Peckham, TN12 5BT, or by email to councilmanager@eastpeckham-pc.gov.uk

If a member of the public wishes to make a complaint regarding a councillor, this must be addressed to the Monitoring Officer at Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council via monitoring.officer@tmbc.gov.uk
The Parish Council has no powers to investigate a councillor.

Whilst the Parish Council will share information on social media and make every effort to respond when specifically tagged in posts, it will not engage in debate on social media on any issue, nor respond to aggressive or accusatory comments. It should be noted that due to Council policies, individual councillors cannot reply on behalf of the Parish Council, and where Parish Office staff work part-time, they may be a delay before responding.

Residents are welcome and encouraged to contact the Parish Council with any questions or queries they may have, on any matter, by post, email, telephone, or by visiting the Parish Office. However, aggressive or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated or responded to. Our employees and volunteers have the right to work without fear of harm, harassment, or abuse, and any such behaviour will be reported immediately to the police.
