Parish Councillor Vacancy
– Could you make a difference in your Community?

East Peckham Parish Council is looking for enthusiastic local people to join our team of Parish Councillors.

Parish Councillors are a group of volunteers who work together to make East Peckham an even better place to live, work and enjoy. This is a rewarding opportunity to have a direct say in local issues, represent the views of residents, and help shape the future of our village.

Who Can Stand?

You may be eligible to become a Parish Councillor if you:

  • Are aged 18 or over; and
  • Live or work within the Parish of East Peckham.

Why Become a Parish Councillor?

As a Parish Councillor, you can:

  • Help improve local services and facilities
  • Represent the interests of residents
  • Influence decisions affecting the community
  • Support local projects and initiatives
  • Make a positive difference to village life

No previous experience is required – just a commitment to your community and a willingness to get involved. Parish Councillors are a vital role to the community, as a group helping to manage the Parish finances, services and assets in the best interests of residents. It is a voluntary role that requires attendance at Full Council once a month and ideally membership of at least one or more of the committees that help manage individual aspects of the council: Planning and Transportation, Climate, Council Assets, Allotments, Youth and Community which includes the Events team, Finance, Local Development and Staffing, which meets less frequently.
